What Medium Should I Use When
Painting with JoSonja’s paints?
All levels of painters welcome!
Great for Oil teachers
for teaching acrylic painters!

THE CLASS: In this informational/demo class you will learn about JoSonja mediums used to help acyrilic rosemalers get some excellent results similiar to that with oil painters (this is not a project based class). Onya will demonstrate and explain how many different JoSonja acrylic mediums work. She will lead you through many ways to accomplish different results. Paint along with her or just learn. We hope you join us in painting and learning!


Open to all level of rosemalers! Oil painters wanting to try and understand acrylics--experiment with the Mediums acrylic painters use! Great for acrylic painters as review or learning experience.

CLASS COST: FREE for 2025 members; others add the $15 membership fee at time of registration.

WHEN OFFERED: March 22, 8:30am - Noon Pacific Time (with short break). A video recording will be available for those who can’t make this time.

Deadline: Registration closes March 18, 2025.

A list of optional supplies will be sent after registration, or after payment for those needing to pay the $15 membership fee. Please pay within 5 days of registration and now you may use Zelle or check to pay quickly.

Instructor: Onya Tolmasoff
Onya is a familiar face at CRA (California Rosemaling Association), Camp Norge and SDP for many years. She started teaching in 1985 and is a highly recommended teacher! She’s taught at many conventions (including SDP, CRA, Rosemaling Coast-to-Coast and many others in the US since 1989.

Not only has her work been displayed at the Smithsonian, the White House and Wichita Kansas but her designs have been published in magazines and newsletters. She’s held officer positions in CRA off and on over the years. She’s counts amongst her mentors: JoSonja Jansen VGM, Gary Albrecht, VGM, and Karen Nelsen VGM in addition to countless other rosemalers she’s been influenced by.
